Casa Ashmarah Private Resort- Lubao, Pampanga
The client is a dynamic partner with a clear and evolving vision for their properties. Having successfully collaborated on two prior projects, they returned to us with a new challenge: to consciously move away from the ubiquitous Bali-inspired aesthetic saturating the private resort market. They sought to create a unique identity by fully embracing the rich, diverse, and authentic character of Filipino design, resulting in a space that is not only beautiful but also culturally resonant and distinctly their own.
Moving Beyond Trends: A specific directive was to move away from the heavily used fluted panels, seeking more textured, artisanal, and locally sourced materials instead.
A Collaborative Partnership: As a spouse team, both partners had strong, individual tastes. The design needed to be a harmonious fusion of their distinct personalities—balancing one's preferences.
Rooted in Heritage: We conducted deep-dive sessions into Philippine crafts. We incorporated elements like banig and furniture made from rattan.
Modern Filipino Fusion: Instead of a purely traditional approach, we created a "Modern Filipino Luxury". This allowed for clean geometries and contemporary comforts to coexist with heritage pieces, directly addressing the spouses' need for a balanced design.
